Supporting land referencing for rail
infrastructure improvement

What is EGIP?

Funded by Transport for Scotland, the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) is a package of improvements to Scotland’s Rail Infrastructure.

Its aim is the modernisation and upgrades of the rail network.

Prediction:

  • 42 minute faster journey time between Edinburgh and Glasgow
  • Provide a 30% increase in capacity by 2019

PROBLEM

SOLUTION

The land referencing work (rights held in land, such as, ownership, environmental reports and land plans and deeds) used to be carried out manually which had the risk of being innacurate or out of date and so, inefficient.

The development of an app called Notification Manager that acts as a central interface for all EGIP stakeholders and helds all workflow activities associated with land referencing.
