DataFest18 is all about collaboration. We believe that interaction between different industry sectors and disciplines, academics, data practitioners, students, public sector, and business specialists is a key element towards data driven innovation.
DataFest17 hosted 23 fringe events in 4 cities, including a series of training events, debates, a parliamentary event, and schools and college events. We are looking to make the DataFest18 Fringe Programme even bigger and better, covering more of Scotland throughout the week. An open call inviting organisations to submit their proposal to host a DataFest18 Fringe Event is now open.
The DataFest18 Fringe programme aims to support data collaboration and innovation. Events are expected to range from public sector use of data, to data related training & workshops, business focused meet-ups and school events. It aims to engage participants from all areas of Scotland to explore, debate and enable data driven innovation by reaching out to companies, practitioners, government, schools and the general public.
We would like to invite you to submit an event proposal for the opportunity to be included in our programme for DataFest18, showcasing and celebrating the diversity of Scotland’s data driven innovation.
Proposals are welcome from anyone who has an interest in data within Scotland. This includes but is not restricted to those in leadership or technical roles from industry, public sector, academia or the wider data community. The Data Lab may be able to provide assistance if you would like to connect with communities in other sectors or geographical areas.
What are we looking for?
The Data Lab welcomes events proposals based on the following criteria:
- Proposals for events, lectures, training, workshops, debates or networking that promote data driven creativity and innovation.
- Ability to engage with various sectors and disciplines in your chosen community or location.
- Evidence of the ability and commitment of those involved to deliver a successful event.
