Postponed – Ethics and Fairness in the Creative Industries in the age of AI & Big Data

An interactive workshop exploring the ethical implications of advances in data-driven technologies for the Creative Industries?

This interactive workshop will connect creative practitioners with local experts in ethics and data-driven tech at the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier University, identifying key areas of concern regarding the use of data-driven tech in Creative Industries.

The session will start with provocations and presentations from Creative Informatics researchers on case studies of ethics and fairness issues across the creative industries, including digital making and craft, data for sustainable practices, algorithmic art, inclusion and accessibility, and blockchain-based services for creatives. Participants will then be invited to share their ideas and experiences in an open discussion exploring some of the key issues around ethics and fairness in the creative industries led by:

Dr. Oli Mival, Head of User Research (UX) at Skyscanner

This session is open to anyone working in or with the creative industries, with an interest in the implications of data on law, ethics and business.
